In many cases, when you add the spray of an air freshener, for example, you're only making the problem worse. As an alternative you could choose natural air sprays or even boil a pot of some of your favorite spices or herbs. Baking soda is also an effective odor-eliminator for refrigerators as well as on carpets when vacuuming. For filtering your air, consider growing a broad green leaf plant or Peace Lilies indoors. What's a great-smelling & effective air spray?
I've got two cats, but other than that, so real smell, so I don't think I need anything strong or heavy-duty. I can't smell anything bad in my house, I'm just paranoid as to what others think when they visit.
Can you suggest any air freshening/deodorizing sprays that effectively take care of smell, without producing mass headaches?
I've recently discovered Scentsy ( www.scentsy.com/MyConsultant ) and it works wonders!! It's a "candle" that does not have a wick, but uses a 25-watt bulb instead (so no fire hazard or soot!).
I even took one vacation with me. I'm so glad I did - because the room was supposedly "non-smoking" but it stunk like an old ashtray. Within 8 hours, the nasty odor was gone.
My hubby was stuck in that room for two weeks due to work out of town (my "vacation" was to go visit him on the weekend), and I took the warmer home with me, but he said that the room smelled fresh even when he left a week later.
