Tea Infusers that Suit You

For many tea lovers, the manner of preparing tea is critical so it befits  one's liking. With every ideal cup of tea comes an equally ideal tea infuser to deliver that perfectly brewed tea in its entire splendor.

Nonetheless, hold onto that credit card! Before you start shopping for tea infusers online, you might want to get to know the tea infuser a little better and decide on which one suits you best.

The tea infuser has a lot of other names and is often called a tea ball, tea maker or a tea egg. It has many types and they come in different shapes and sizes. Tea infusers may be made of metal, glass or a variety of other materials. They are excellent for people who are constantly thirsting for a fresh cup of tea.

Before you mistake the tea infuser for a kettle, it looks like anything but. It is generally a small perforated metal ball that looks similar to a strainer. And like your standard strainer, the tea infuser also has holes. Some holes are small enough to prevent bits of tea leaves to escape while others are larger. In that case you will need a tea strainer to filter your tea.

So what exactly does a tea infuser do?

When you immerse the tea infuser containing loose tea leaves into a pot or cup of boiling water, the water soaks the leaves inside and releases the essence of the tea into the pot or cup.

As mentioned, there are several types of tea infusers and they boil down to two main types: mesh balls and perforated balls. Both are fairly affordable and are great kitchen devices.

The Mesh Tea Infuser Ball is most appropriate for fine leaf tea or tea with tiny loose leaves. It has tiny holes that prevent morsels of the leaves to pass through. Its common shapes are cylindrical, conical or spherical. Some have long handles that resemble tongs that split apart to open the basket where you put in the loose tea.

The Perforated Tea Infuser ball is a classic and most common infuser. It takes the shape of an egg and typically has a chain attached to serve as a handle when the tea is ready to be taken out of the pot. Perforated balls have larger holes that may allow some of the tea leaves to escape from the container—but, nothing that a simple strainer can't solve.

Choosing the right tea infuser is easy. Question is, are up for it? Tea bags may be the most practical choice in today's fast-paced lifestyle where most people hardly have time to boil water in a pot. However, tea bags have limited space for water to circulate, thus restraining some of the flavor, and possibly, the health benefits of the tea.

Time spent on waiting for that water to boil, for magic to happen in the tea infuser while you dip it in the pot and finally sipping on hot, rejuvenating fresh tea is, most definitely, a time well spent.

What is your kids favorite household item "toy"?

So we have a cupboard under our sink full of just plastic things and lately Elissa had been pulling them out and playing with them. They are things like plastic cups, bowls, and even a strainer things.

also today she decided to grab my bag and pull it down. The thing she grabbed first and didnt want to let go off was a box of TicTacs!! lol. She had fun.

Sometimes i wreckon that we could have saved soo much money by not buying toys and just giving her boxes ect to play with!! lol.
Loving Lauren.. Eh? hmmm. ok.

Tape measure. My kids take it (the kind that snaps back inside at the touch of a button), and they'll drag it out as far as they can, and then press the button to make it snap back into itself.

Boxes. They'll play in boxes for days. My kids'll sleep in boxes if I let 'em.

Metal colander, whisks, pots, pans. They throw it all on and play robot and alien creatures. :) So cute.

Colored duct tape. My boys take rolls and rolls and make big pictures on the floor, with it. Our floors are polished, poured concrete, so the tape doesn't leave a sticky mess, either.
